Le Cluny Table Linens
Cotton Jacquard Tablecloths - Soleil

Le Cluny's tablecloths bring an easy elegance to your kitchen, dining room, or terrace - anywhere you want to enjoy the intense, sunny colors of southern France.  In this section we show Le Cluny's new "Soleil-Souleu" pattern, a beautifully color-blocked tablecloth with a stylish, contemporary twist.

Le Cluny's Jacquard tablecloths have a Teflon coating which prevents liquids from saturating the cloth.  The fabric feels smooth and supple, and no ironing is required.  (Of course, the matching napkins and dishtowels are uncoated.)

History lesson - Jacquard refers to a loom developed in the early 18th century by inventor Joseph M. Jacquard.  Jacquard's loom offered a simpler and faster way to weave complex patterns - but the processes involved in creating intricately patterned fabrics remains a highly technical art form which is constantly evolving, especially in France.  ("Damask" is a general term for textiles with woven patterns and refers to the city of Damascus in Syria).
